Young Interpreters

Milton Mount is proud to be part of the Young Interpreter Scheme. The children write letters explaining why they want to be Young Interpreters; it is a voluntary role which takes up some of their own time in the school day. They receive training and are then allocated their own buddies who they meet up with in planning/study time or at break/lunchtime.

Our Young Interpreters support children who are new to this country to help them feel relaxed, happy and welcome. They communicate with children who do not speak much English and show them how we do things and where things are. They enjoy sharing other cultures and information about different countries.

Our Young Interpreters also meet up with other Young Interpreters from local schools to enjoy different cultural activities.
