Governors' Voice
The Governors of Milton Mount Primary School are comprised of a group of volunteers, both from within the school community (staff and parents) and the wider community, with an interest in giving our children the best possible start in life.
Milton Mount Primary School is part of the Greensand Multi-Academy Trust, and our governors form the local School Committee. We focus on three core strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Holding the Senior Leadership Team to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Engaging with pupils, staff, parents and the wider community so that governors have a deep knowledge of the school and take all views into account
Governors work together with the Senior Leadership Team, to ensure the best possible education for all the children in our school, enabling them to realise and achieve their potential at each and every stage of their journey, in accordance with our Vision.
The School Committee meets at least twice a term. These meetings consider whether all children are getting an excellent education, if they are safe and happy and if they are being prepared to be effective citizens
In addition, governors take on other areas of responsibility linked to identified areas. This could be very specific e.g. the progress of one year group, or have a broader remit e.g. Special Educational Needs or Early Years. There are also working groups set up on a needs basis to consider specific issues that may arise.
Governors visit the school regularly, undertaking learning walks, talking to staff and children. They report back to the School Committee on the progress they have seen.
The Governing Body can be contacted either via the school office or via the Clerk, Mrs Patrizia Rudisser-Street: clerk@miltonmount.co.uk
